Honk! Oz Festival

Honk! Oz Festival ran from 8 January 2016 to 10 January 2016 and was the fringe festival for the Illawarra Folk Festival. Honk Oz is a free music festival showcasing alternative community bands.

With bands coming from all over the country as well as Chicago the line up looked pretty good. Honk Oz is primarily bands with wind, brass and percussion instruments. The musicians travel here and play at there own expense.

During the day they held performances in the Mall, the Arts Precinct and the Town Hall. At night they gathered in Centro CBD and the Howlin’ Wolf Whisky Bar to jam.

It was absolutely amazing. My favourite was The Red Brigade entertained the crowd in every way possible.

Next year if you are in town take a look!
