After a three and a half hour drive of rain and seeing nothing we made it to the Hunter Valley Gardens.
We had dinner at Harrigans Irish Pub. The pub was very Irish with nice service and ok food.
We waited patiently in the car for half an hour listening to the horrid news about Paris and the live performance of Fleetwood Mac from Hope Estate.
The gates open at 6:30pm but you are not able to enter the lights walk until 7:30pm.
With over 15 million lights the gardens are stunning. Everywhere you looked there was light. Lit up lollies, Santa, planes, trains, Cinderella they have everything.
It was amazing. It is way better than driving the streets trying to find lights in people’s front yard.
From 6:30pm they have a few food stalls in the garden. There website says that restaurants are open but keep in mind there aren’t many to choose from and maybe check and see if there are any other events on because it does get congested.
The lights run from 8 November 2015 to 26 January 2015 7:30pm to 10:00pm every night. The adult tickets are $27 and if you are from Sydney you can jump on an AAT Kings tour at 4:00pm with a barbeque dinner included for $185.
It took us half an hour to walk around the light show. It is well worth the trip and excitement.
